TSOS NASHVILLE DAY TWO

Floral arrangement inspiration | Nashville, Tennessee | The School of Styling - A three-day hands-on for creative entrepreneurs. http://www.theschoolofstyling.com

Let me first open by saying how amazing this week has been! Day three is in full swing already, and I can't wait to share with you about day two, so let me get to it! All the attendees arrived in the morning, with a parfait bar to fill their bellies and beautiful basket totes by Greige Design, to greet them at their seats. Each tote was personalized with a darling name tag handwritten by Simply Jessica Marie and accented with a delicate silk ribbon by Adorn

Everyone enjoyed their parfaits, chatted a bit, and then took their seat, to learn from Jess Connolly about goal setting. They learned the ins and outs of pursuing their business and focused on nailing down the reason behind the why. Then we moved onto to a hands-on session of floral design with Melissa Broadwell of Vintage Florals, where the ladies got to arrange beautiful centerpieces. They did such a beautiful job! This day was so fun, because now our space is filled with 25+ arrangements scattered throughout the venue. This place gets prettier by the hour!

After they created their centerpieces, we took a break for a delicious lunch, prepared by Flavor Caters, and then moved on to a talk about how to make your business profitable, taught by Shanna Skidmore. This information was invaluable, as she gave us tips on each area of business, and how and what to prioritize. We then transitioned into multiple breakout sessions, where the women got to sit a learn from successful creatives in a small group setting.

We figured all the ladies would need some sugar after a grueling day of learning and creating, so we surprised them with a scrumptious selection of assorted donuts. One donut consisted of dough, caramel, and bacon. BACON. Yes, you heard correctly! After we filled them with sugar, we moved onto our next hands-on session, tabletop styling. Each lady got to learn how to style a tabletop from the talented Veronica Rogers of Type A Society, and then had the chance to implement what they learned. We had a huge variety of vintage china from Two Monkeys Vintage, and a selection of linens from 12th Table and Southern Events to choose from. It was so fun to see so many different styles and aesthetics from each attendee design, which shows how creativity isn't just one way.  Even more fun, is that our photographer, Shalyn Nelson, captured each floral centerpiece and tabletop design on film, so every attendee can have quality images of their work.

Once Shalyn finished capturing their design, they were free to leave and explore Nashville for dinner...but of course not without their goodbye gift, which consisted of a candle by Apotheosis, a mini bottle of Le Grand Courtage champagne, a tea towel, and a disposable champagne glass. What a fun way to end the day! Stay tuned for day three recap, on the blog tomorrow!
